Vic on feet for a cold

Hi have a 7 month old with a really bad cold and I have read that vic on their feet with socks over the top helps, would Karval do the same job?
Does anyone else have any ideas for helping her sleep at night, I have raised her cot and rubbed Karval onto to her chest and back but she is still really struggling.
Any help much appreciated.

saline nasal spray? Karvol/Calpol vaporiser?

Vic on feet has helped us with night time coughing before. Best thing for cold/block up nose is a plug-in Karvol vaporiser. Absolutely brilliant and you just replace the inside 'cartridge' when it starts to run out. I got ours from our local chemist.
