I just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on how the promotion of junk food at supermarket checkouts affects the experience of doing the supermarket shop for mums? Would appreciate any thoughts on this.

My thoughts. It means you have to say no sometimes, no big deal though and it means sometimes I pick things up as a treat.

Supermarkets are always going to place things where they thing they are most likely to sell therefore sweets near the checkout makes sense from a shops POV.

my kids dont ask for sweets at the checkout so hasnt been a problem for us (lo's are age 4 and 7)
