Got hosp appoint soon but anyone got child who has absences, do they just stare into space, have no reaction to anything while in them and then not remember any thing when they come out of them and then quite often tired after. I would appreciate any info about them. Thanks.

Not a child, but I work with a woman who gets these symptoms and she suffers from migraines. I'd never heard of it before I met her. That's all I know. It could be completely unrelated. I hope it's nothing serious.

they sound like absences but you won't know for sure unless they do a EEG and they happen whilst its being done - it doesn't hurt btw if thats recommended. One thing to try is doing something you know they would react to if not in one - with my son its touching his nose - he hates it - but doesn't react if have the absence - hope you don't have to wait too long for the hosp appointment. BTW these don't to any long term harm like some seizures but might impact schooling depending on the frequency of them - good luck.
