DS3 excessive blinking

Have recently noticed my 3yo blinking a lot. Not in the bright light/cover eyes type of way. Just seems to be doing it constantly. Should I be doing anything?

I wouldn't worry about it. My son (now 10) went through a strange phase of blinking a lot when he was 3 or 4 - it didn't last long (maybe a few months) and hasn't happened since.

My eldest used to blink a lot - he was older (about 5 I think) but it was mainly when he was watching TV. I mentioned it to the optician and she said DS had flaky skin like dandruff (although I couldn't see anything) in his eyelashes which may have been causing it. She said to wash his eyes with soap and water to get rid of it which it did. He hasn't done the blinking since (he's now 7).

Thanks for the response.
Franny-very interesting, will try this out. He has extremely long lashes (such a waste on a boy!) and quite possible.

DD did this, it was a habit. When I got to the bottom of it, she was trying to attract a boy in her class and someone further up the school had suggested batting her eyelashes at him.

That's great Kitten! Grin
I did give his eye lashes a really good clean but no real difference. Will just keep an eye on him and see what happens
