Big tooth growing behind milk teeth

Hi All
Whilst brushing 5 yeqr old DS's teeth today I spotted quite a large section of his adult tooth growing up behind his front bottom milk tooth.
Is this normal?
It's quite a long way back so I'm thinking it will be at the wrong angle compared to his other teeth. Also shouldnt his milk tooth have fallen out first?
Dentist can see him tomorrow but wondered if anyone has experienced same thing?

Normal . It will gradually displace the milk tooth and realign into the gap.

Although it is normal, I think my son is different from many on here. He has one adult tooth that has grown behind a milk tooth. It came up 2 years ago and the milk tooth has never come out so the adult tooth is significantly displaced, it is very much set behind the others.

Our dentist keeps saying the milk tooth will fall out but it hasn't and I can't believe his adult tooth will ever move far enough forward to be straight again.

Hi twisted this happened with my dd last year. Her two front big teeth grew whilst her milk teeth were still in place, one fell out but the other remained even when the big teeth were fully through. She ended up looking like nanny McPhee!! The tooth was really wobbly but would not budge. I ended up booking her an appt with the dentist but it fell out the day before! Her teeth are now in place so don't worry it is 'normal' :)

My dd has 2 rows of bottom teeth for ages. the baby tooth eventually fell out and within a few weeks the new ones had moved to the right place. was quite amazing really.

My ds had this and the dentist said that the milk tooth may not fall out naturally as the adult tooth would not dissolve the base of the milk tooth. he told me to encourage my ds to wobble the milk tooth! Luckily the milk tooth fell out within 6 months and the adult tooth has completely moved into the gap.
