grommets and washing hair

Hi, my DD (13) had grommets put in at the hospital on Thursday and I know that the nurse said to put cotton wool coated in vaseline in ears when washing hair but was wondering if it was safe to wash after only 3 days? She is returning to school tomorrow. Thanks.

my daughter had grommets put in both ears i think i left it a few weeks of putting the cotten wool in vaseline in her ears
