3yo DD is still dribbling loads

She has always been a big dribbler, but got all her teeth by about 2 and is still (at 3.2 years) dribbling a lot. It can vary a bit (always much worse when she has a cold) but never seems to go away completely. She is a thumb-sucker, and tends to get wheezy with a cold (has an inhaler) but is otherwise healthy.

Is this anything to worry about?

Ask your GP to look at her tonsils/adenoids. My DS was a dribbler because he had enlarged adenoids and had to have them out in the end (he never had tonsillitis). Does your daughter snore loudly as well or wake alot in the night?

I would very much imagine it's the thumb, it's the same with the dummy. My dd was getting such a sore mouth with her dummy. Once I took the dummy away it cleared up completely. Not sure how you get her to stop sucking her thumb though?!

Thank you. DD generally sleeps very well and I've not noticed any snoring, other than when she has a cold. When she sucks her thumb, she often leaves it in but with her mouth slightly open, so I suppose that would explain a lot of it. Might well try to get her tonsils checked though. I read online that dribbling can be associated with delayed speech development, but I wouldn't say that was the case with her.
