My dd has been complaining of funny feeling and points to breast bone. Took her to gp today and he has given her tablets for heartburn/stomach acid. Anyone else have experience of this at such a young age?

Ds2 gets this occasionally, but he is 13. He gets it more when he is anxious.

Dd would be anxious child & this pain was making her worse as she was worried something really wrong with her. She was delighted when gp told her she wouldn't have to go to hospital & has hardly complained since.

My DS had something similar when he was younger and we took him to the gp and was diagnosed with costochondritis
It is often worse when sitting down because the rib muscles are squashed together.
It also often happens to children who have lost a grandparent recently and they think they are having a heart attack, which is what had happened in our family. The explanation from the gp was enough to put his mind at rest
