How often can you use calpol/baby nurofen for teething - not in terms of dosage but in terms of not being reliant on it or using too much

MY dd is having a hard time with teething - she is 5mo and one has come through completely but she has at least two more almost through the surface - she goes to sleep fine then wakes up an hour later screaming. Def not wind and am almost certain it is wind. Using calpol is quite good and using baby ibuprofen is very good (I know you can use both together but I don't) and I just wanted to know how many nights in a row can you use medicine without becoming over reliant on it or doing her damgae or just being, you know, a bit irresposnible. If we gave her calpol/ibuprofen 5 nights in a row if it hurt her every night would that be too much for example. She never has more than two doses a night - when she first wakes about 8pm then about 3am if she wakes screaming in pain again.

I used dentinox gel and ashton and parsons and then if after both of them he was still in pain would give calpol or nurfoen.

I would do your best with alternatives as Sirzy says. There is no issue with giving pain relief regularly.

The bottom line is you can't leave your baby screaming in pain.

One of the best alternatives i've tried is Anbesol. you can use it up to 8 times a day/night. it says you cannot repeat within half an hour so i assumed thast it wouldn't last long, but it seems to enable my DS to get a good few hours relief from sore gums at a time.

ashton and parsons and also neelson's teething granules then the gels then calpol, but make you own ice lollies or frozen fruit in a muslin cloth works on our house, tasty too
