Anyones elses kids been this late getting first molars? He's only got one set of molars, and only on the bottom. Its been a traumatic time sleepwise. So we're not looking forward to the next ones coming in.

I think my DD will be the same. At 16 months she only has 4 teeth, the front ones. A friend actually laughed her head off at this and kept asking how DD ate anything.

I can only wait for them to arrive. The timetable I have say her next teeth are due the end of month 15 so I can only think that it was an average age. There are always people who don't fit the average.

Her first teeth only came at 11 months. But what can I do but wait.

I heard that my FIL was late getting his teeth and back then if they didn't arrive by 1, that the dentist would lance the gums. Luckily he got a tooth just before then so was saved.

Dd1 didn't get her first set of molars until she'd turned 2. She didn't lose her milk teeth until late either, but the dentist says that's a really good thing.
I know of a child who got no teeth until they were 20 months, and then got them all in about a fortnight. I don't think it was a very pleasant 2 weeks. Grin

Goodness that does sound traumatic, getting all teeth in 2 weeks. But I suppose they got them all over with at once. My DS got his first tooth at the 'normal' 7 months. Which is why I am surprised the rest are taking so long. But I think I can see quite a few under the gums now. So hopefully not much longer to go.

My DD2 is 17 months old and only has 3 teeth! two bottom front ones and one top front! She was 13 months before her first tooth came through-the top front one!
