7 yr old with spots?!

Just slightly concerned about my 7 yr old DS who seems to have developed spots over the last few months! They actually look like little pimples with tiny white heads and mainly just on one cheek. Some days is worse than others but I can't find any particular link with food. Seems like quite a trivial issue to bother the doctor with but can't find anything on google about what might be the cause. Surely he's not got acne already Confused

They could be sweat spots if he lies on that cheek when he's asleep?

My DS when through a period of a 6-8 months with a couple of spots on his cheeks. He would pick at them too (but he was only 2yo at the time). I guess with your DS it could be hormonal...but would be a bit young for that I'd think? Anyway, I went to the Dr and was prescribed antibiotic cream (didn't work), antibiotic with steroid cream (didn't work) and finally a course of oral antibiotics (worked completely). So I would check with the Dr. My DS was picking them his skin was starting to scar so I'm glad he got the oral antibiotics which cleared it up and they've never returned (until he's a teen probably!).

BTW...it was a spot here and then a spot there. Not just 2 spots in the same place over the 6-8 months.

Thanks for your replies. He does sleep on that side and gets very hot at night so could be sweat spots. I think I'll check with the doc just to be on the safe side as you suggested pleasenap. He's got a few other little ailments I want to check out so will make an appt. I had terrible acne as a teen and still do at times so just hoping he hasn't inherited my skin!
