Newborn - red underarm, possibly infected?

If it doesn't clear up soon I will contact OOH care today.

2 week old baby has red patches under both underarms. I thought we'd washed and dried all skin folds carefully but obviously not Sad. One underarm is a tiny bit red, the other is all red and has white gunk (now washed off with salt water then a bath.) Could this be an infection? Underarm temp is

Hard to tell without being able to see your baby. My DDs all used to get red bits in the creases of their underarms (and other places). I found that sudocrem helped a lot with it.

I have put savlon on both underarms and am leaving them uncovered in the hope that some air helps. The problem is, he's so young that he still holds his limbs very close to his body (as though still in utero) so I don't think any airflow is happening.

I might try sudocrem thanks.

The other thing that i used was nappy cream - The areas just werent getting a chance to dry out, it was like the skin was breaking down because of it, so the cream seemed to help by keeping the moisture away (if that makes sense?)
