Young toddler with fever but doing ok - docs?

My 19month old dd has a fever (since yesterday) she's happy and playing (a bit clingy) and she's eating, though smaller quantities than normal and wanting sweeter types of food. I'm giving her medicine just before bedtimes to help her settle to sleep but not whilst she's happy and awake. Should I take her to the doctors to get checked, or am I being PFBish?

How hot a fever?

Generally though, if just a temperature and no major misery with it, I'd see how she goes.

If still running a fever after 3 ish days, then maybe worth checking out to see if ears/throat OK. BUt with my dcs, when they've had ear infections or tonsillitis, they've been miserable with it.

no I wouldn't, but look out for her in case she gets worse. as long as she is taking up plenty of fluids she should be fine.

Would agree with pooka, would take to docs after 2-3 days if fever lasts, but sooner if she unhappy/in pain.

Ahh, thanks everyone. Was beginning to think I was being neglectful not taking her. She only started with fever yesterday (38.5 and thereabouts) was miserable on tue, hot but ok yesterday and still feverish today but quite happy mooching around as long as Im near. I'll think again tomorrow - why oh why does this always happen just before the weekend?!
Thanks again

Would take her tomorow if still high temp, to save any calling out-of-hours over weekend, thats what I usually do anyway if heading towards weekend.
