it wasn't there this morning. I noticed it about an hour ago, it is getting worse. I looks like water that has been spilled on a worktop iyswim...

Have given him some antihistamine but no sign of improvement. he is off form but teething like a demon so I had put it down to that

Any ideas?

Nappy rash? This can be brought on by the teething.
Take his nappy off and let him roam free, and use plenty of sudocrem when you put the nappy back on.

It's not around his bum though, it's up on the cheeks..and he hasn't had a poo today. It is really like an allergy rash but is only on his bum cheeks Confused

Thanks for the reply

Washing powder allergy or sat in something that has irritated his bum. My DS developed a sudden allergy to something in Pampers and we had to switch brands.

wmmc we haven't changed anything. How bizarre

Is it anywhere else on his body? Nappy rash can be anywhere under the nappy.
As I said, probably caused by the teething; teething causing him to overheat, which makes him sweaty in his nappy, which has caused the rash.
Simplest explanation, especially if nowhere else on his body.

I would try this first - hope he's better soon

Thanks Somerset

Have taken nappy off and lashed on the sudocrem, tying his vest underneath but no nappy. He doesn't seem too bothered but it looks bloody awful

Well with us it was one new pack of Pampers (previously used since birth) - nothing different on the labels, but it suddenly started this rash and as soon as we swapped to another brand it went away Hmm

You could try bathing him with oatmeal in the water, this will take the redness away and soothe it a bit. If he's not bothered about it though I'd just keep an eye on it for a few days. It may just go on it's own. :)
