easy bruising - when to worry

dd is four and has had a bit of a rough time the past six months with lots of bugs and, in Feb, glandular fever. when we were seeing a ped about the GF, i did raise it with him that i thought she bruised quite easily and showed him a few on her legs (below the knees). he said it was normal and that her bloodtests (done to diagnose GF but fairly compehensive) indicated no blood disorders other than iron deficiency anemia. She is now on iron supplements. After a period with not much bruising, he lower legs seem covered with them again. She is quite active and probably bashes them quite a lot, but she has an eighteen month old sister who falls probably five times as much as she does, and doesn't have nearly as many bruises. i am taking DD1 to the GP about this but just wondered if anyone knew what it could be - other than leukemia which is obviously my paranoia is all about ultimately. DD has no other symptoms and is eating well and full of energy at the moment. Many thanks

I was told that if the bruises are on the legs they don't usually signify anything much. If they're getting bruises on the trunk or other unusual places (I know someone who had bruising inside the mouth and on the tongue) that's when they worry.

its a good sign that bloods came back normal. Leg bruises are quite normal at this age, I would be more worried if she had bruises in odd places that dont normally.
When DH was first dx, he had bruises on arms, hands, stomach, top of legs and even his back :(

oh gosh....so sorry about your DH lisad Sad. i keep looking her over and it seems only her lower legs are affected. Thanks for responses - am feeling a bit reassured - i have been worrying about this for ages because coupled with the fact that her immunity has seemed low for a few months now, i have been wondering about very sinister things. also, bloods were normal but that was back in Fed, so i have been thinking perhaps something just wasnt showing up yet.

Worth checking to be safe though. Wish dh had done tests earlier tbh
