Ds woke from his nap at 4.30, he was quite hot because he'd pulled his blanket over his head but I checked his temp and it was normal.

I gave him some scrambled eggs and a plum and apple puree for his dinner about an hour ago and while he was eating I noticed what I thought was a heatlump (because he'd been so hot before) just above his lip, another appeared under his eye and a few on his chest (the ones on his chest were much smaller). They all seem to be going down but now he is sounding a bit snotty so I'm worried he may have had a slight allergic reaction?

He's had egg a few times before and was fine but he's never had plums...

Wwyd, he's fine in himself but I'm worried about putting him to bed now. I have absolutely no experience of allegies. DS is 9 months by the way.

(someone please slap me for being stupid if I am!)

DD now 8, when being weaned started to develop purple blotches on her face straight away after eating apple, plum, (almost every fruit). The first time this happened when she ate apple puree, I thought it was heat rash. I gave her apple again and the rash appeared again. I took her to the doctors and she was diagnosed with a citric acid sensitivity. It took me a while to sus it out, as when she ate a red apple that been pureed the rash didn't appear (red apples being less acidic). Keep an eye on him when he eats fruit, i'd try plum again, on its own, if you notice the rash again then make an appointment with your doctor. Citric acid sensitivity is not serious, and DD has grown out of it now.

Thank you, I will keep a look out for any reaction to certain fruits, I didn't know about citric acid sensitivity.
