Chicken Pox near eye

Hi,

My DS1, aged 7 has chicken pox. Covered in them, but well in himself. They came up on Wednesday mainly, altho i was suspicious about the first spot on Tues. This has come up as a HUGE one, and another mum told me that the first one comes up the biggest and usually scars, the "mother spot" or something. Not sure if that is true or not.

I think it is fairly invitable that DS2, 20m, will get it. No big deal.

Over the course of this morning DS2 seems to be coming up with a spot, not yet fluid filled and obviously chicken pox-like, next to his eye. It could be coincidence, but probably CP.

I am a little concerned as it is REALLY close to his eye- basically where you would do a flick if you were wearing eyeliner. If it comes up as big as DS1's first/big/mother spot it will be right on his eye.

Should I be concerned? Is there anything I should do?

Thanks

we've just had them too... ds2 age 3 had one right on the lower eyelash line, took him to doc who said to keep watch on it and if it seemed to be extending into the 'wet' part of the eyelid then we needed to go back immediately. it did get big but never actually went into the eye.

DD has just had CP, it's a right PITA isn't it?

Keep an eye on it (sorry Blush ), it will probably be ok due to tears etc keeping it clean. I would't put any lotion on it, but if it does start to irritate your DS too much, have a word with your pharmacist.

And the PITA Wink ones are more of a worry Confused good luck and

Hope he's better soon

Both DC have just had it and DD had one on the edge of each eyelid IYKWIM. She's only 14 weeks so I was probably a bit hyper careful but I tool her back to the doctors about them. He basically said it was right tO be careful and put her on antibiotics as well as eye-drops.
