Is my 7 Year Old overweight?

My 7 year old boy just doesn't stop wanting/eating food. He's about 5 stone and 4ft 5 and is tall against his class mates, but he's starting to looking chunky and I'm not sure if it's just a stage they go through or if I need to start keeping an eye on his food?

He does eat healthy food but always wants seconds and if left to it would hoover up his brother and sisters left overs.

He's plays rugby, football, swims, cycles and is always out in the garden kicking the pool around.

What's the best way about educating him without giving him food/eating issues.

children grow out then up IME - particularly boys - so chunking then shooting up is normal

How about using a portion control plate?

Sorry, that doesn't link directly to the portion control plate for children. Hmm, but it's on there somewhere.
