Threadworms?

DD (3yo) keeps doing a little dance - sort of like a circular wiggle/sticking bum out like trying to dislodge knickers except she's in nappies (difficult to describe!) - has been doing it for the past couple of days but more and more frequently today. I've had a check of her bottom area and can't see anything wormlike though. Unfortunately she does have speech problems so she can't really explain how she's feeling. I've asked her if her bottom tickles (she doesn't understand "itchy") and she said yes. She doesn't appear to be trying to scratch herself.

Does this sound like threadworms? Do I need to get an "official" diagnosis or would I be as well to treat her with over the counter stuff anyway (would that do any harm?). Would be helpful if I could actually see any of the wiggly gits but either they aren't there at all or they're shy!

Tks

I would just treat her anyway and see if it fixes the problem.
