Stomach bug aftermath

We all had a horrible stomach bug last weekend - 24 hour job that we seemed to recover from quite quickly.

But my LO (4 months) is still having runny, pale yellow poos a week later. She's doing about 4 a day. She is formula fed and normally only goes once a day.

I took her to the GP in the middle of the week and he said that it can last up to a couple of weeks while her system gets back to normal but he took a sample anyway just to get it checked out.

Anyone else experienced this and how long did it take to get back to normal!?

Hi, when my son had a tummy bug aged around 15 months he continued to have quite runny nappies for about 2 weeks after :( Sometimes following a tummy bug babies can have a temporary lactose intolerance, maybe chat to your HV about the possibility of trying a lactose free milk for a couple of weeks whilst your LO fully recovers.

My lo is older at 3, but we all had it a couple of weeks ago. It was also a 24 hr thing for us, but she was sick everynight for 6 nights afterwards! I also took her to the doc and got the same response. He said to make sure she got plenty of fluids.

Hope she's feeling better soon.

I think I read somewhere/was told by someone that after a nasty stomach bug, babies can for a time develop lactose intolerance (yellow poos). Could you switch onto a different, non lactose based formula just for a few days to see if it clears up? Appreciate that this might lead to your LO turning their nose up at the bottle but might be worth a try?
