spotty eczema

My 14 month old DD started getting little patches of eczema on her ears a few months ago. I took her to the Docs and they said just moisturise, cut down on soaps and did not prescribe anything. Her ears have actually got better but her face now has loads of red spots and I have been told by Docs this is also eczema (she was in hosp for something else and three different docs all said the spots were eczema).
Has any one else ever had a little one with this?
I am going back to the Docs on Thurs as the spots are very angry looking and I am hoping they can give me a cream or something to help.
Poor DD looks reallt terrible with red and spotty face and people keep giving us funny looks as I am sure they think she has something contagious! A stranger came up to me yesterday to say my DD has got chicken pox!
Just wondering what else I can do to help her skin??

my son has terrible eczema. we eventually ended up at a pediatric dermatologist. he prescribed a steroid for his body and protopic for his face. he is only 11 months and started with eczema at 5 or 6 mos. we moisturize 3-4 times a day all over with cerave cream (over the counter). we bathe him everyday with cetaphil. we wash his clothes with free and clear detergent using a 2nd rinse and no fabric softener. i find it gets worse with certain foods (acidic foods and dairy). i hope this helps. good luck!
