How long to use eye drops for?

My DS had nasty crusty eyes and we got Fucithalmic from the GP. The discharge has disappeared now but there seems to be quite a lot of drops left in the tube. How much longer should I treat him for to stop it recurring?

There weren't any instructions on how long to use it for on the label and it's a nightmare trying to get through to the GP on the phone - just wondered if anyone knew.

Fucithalmic Acid is prescribed for 7 days I think? My DD2 has poorly eyes and often gets infections, the usual advice we get is to continue use for 2-3 days after symptoms have cleared up. You could try asking the Pharmacist just to be sure though.

there is a patient information leaflet in the box. If you have thrown it away, contact your GP as the chemist will probably not want to say incase the doctor wants you to use it for a specific time.
