Diarrohea (sp?) in 5 month old

My nearly 5 month old has been having diarrohea over Easter. Why is it always over a bank holiday weekend? Started Saturday and is still going strong today. We have just got back from the doctors who said to keep an eye on it and if it is still happening on Thursday to bring in a stool sample.

DD is still eating (she is bottle fed) and we are giving her boiled cooled water to stop dehydration. She seems generally ok but is more grizzly than normal. Not sure if this is due to teething or the heat or just feeling poorly. She was up loads in the night like her which is unusual as she normally only wakes once for a feed around 2.00am and then wouldn't wake again until 5.30am at the earliest. Last night it was midnight, 2.00, 3.00, 3.30, 4.00, 4.45 and on an on until 7.00am.

I have got an ear infection but as am not breast feeding I am told I could not pass anything to her.

Her poo is very green and I can see curds of undigested milk in it. She is still straining and going red in the face when she poos which seems odd as the poo is so runny.

Not saying I don't trust the doctor (hmmm) but is this normal/ok/something I should take in my stride? Doc checked her tummy and listened with stethoscope but other than that we were in and out.

Any medical advice or anyone been there and done that?
