Eyelid cyst

ok- hoping someone with some sort of medical experience might be able to advise....

My son has a cyst on his eyelid - his gp has seen it and has referred him on to the hospital to have it removed. However, over the past few days it has been changing - it is now looking red, with a yellow centre, and has grown so that it is kindof drooping. If it were not a bank holiday I would phone the dr for advice, but obviously that is not an option today. Should I be getting someone to look at it? Or is this quite normal for cysts?

Anyone know?

have you tried avery warm(but not too hot) compresson the eye. This would help the pus (yellow centre) to be released and start the process of healing.
Worth a try , but please not too hot and stop it if is too painful!
Good luck , if desperate ring NHS direct.

Hi- thanks for the reply. Took him to the out of hours doctor in the end, who confirmed an infection and gave him antibiotics and eye drops.
