My DS has been sneezing a lot and very sniffy/runny nose for 4 days now.
How do I know if its a summer cold or hayfever?

He doesnt have a temperature and we normally dont medicate colds as he gets by fine without meds.
Would like to give him something if its hayfever though as from my own experience the itchy eyes and nose etc is horrible without any outward signs.

He is 5yo and cant really describe very well how he feels (he has ASD)

I suppose there are two options, you can try some antihistamines (or eye drops and a nose spray if you want to avoid drugs) and see if they help or have a walk through a place with lots of trees in blossom and see if it gets worse (if it is this early is more likely to be tree pollen than grass). Can you go to the GP or call NHS24 if you want to know for sure? Even the pharmacy should be able to advise though, if that is easier.
