my 11 month old seems to have had a virus for about 12 weeks, basically every few weeks he gets really high temperature, cries a lot and goes off his food. Also his sleep goes badly at night and he falls asleep on me during the day.

i have taken him to the doctors three times (although not since his last bout in late feb) and they all say he is fine 'just a virus' (ear checked for infection)

So my question is should i bother taking him to the doctor yet again, and should I push for a blood test or something?

Or is this just normal virus stuff, he does got to a lot of play groups etc.

sorry he is my first and I don't really know if this is norma!

I would say that he is getting a lot of different virus's every few weeks and you do note that he goes to a lot of playgroups. My DS seemed to be ill CONSTANTLY from about Oct to April the first 2 winters - it's as their immune system establishes itself. If he seems otherwise well in between and doesn't get ill to the stage whereby he has a seriously high temp or is drowsy etc (you know the sort of classic signs whereby you would seek assistance) I would take it as normal and look forward to regular bouts of illness unfortunately!

All the best xxx
