10 week old with a cold

Is there anything i can do to help her? She has her 8 week checkup/first jabs on thursday so will be phoning HV to ask about whether she should go or not, but shes just so snuffly. Doesnt have a temperature (or much of one) eating well so not considering taking her to the dr, given her a bath, making sure shes taking plenty of fluids.. anything else. The whole house has this cold, including my 2 1/2 year old so fun times

oh she also has weeping eyes, like green stuff coming from them, my ds had them last year, we wiped with cold tea and it cleared up. Seems to be the same with DD

Are you bfing? If so a shot of bm up the nose and over the eyes should help. If not saline drops for the nose and I recommend a snot sucker. Dd2 had a horrid cold and cough at 10 weeks. I did take her to the dr due to the cough and they were lovely. Said they'd always rather you bought a young baby in if you were worried.

im bottle feeding at the moment, so will get dh to pick up some saline drops and (lol) snot sucker..if it gets worse cough wise, or she stops drinking i will take her to drs asap

our dd has had a couple of colds now. We were given a humidifier as a baby present and I swear by it!!!! She was so stuffed up before that she couldn't breathe well enough to sleep or eat. Taking feeds was very difficult!! We were also advised to prop her cot up a bit to let gravity work on the snot!! We also had karvol drops on a tissue at the top of her cot but can't remember as I type, if she had to be a certain age before they can be used. Hope any of this helps. Absolutely miserable and knackering though!!

6 months for karvol I think. 3 months for boots own vapour rub. Good luck, it's pretty miserable for everyone!
