DD had a MRI on Mother's Day and I still haven't heard if she is okay or not.

I had mine within ten days.

Chase them up!

Thank you. Do I ring the hospital or the GP surgery? It was the hospital who referred her to have it done.

It took a few weeks for mine to come back.

deemented · 18/04/2011 15:37

Mine went through to my GP, but she had requested it.

You may need to wait to see you hospital consultant if they where the ones to request.

I'd be tempeted toring the GP because the results will have been forwarded, i presume.

ednurse · 18/04/2011 15:39

The MRI dept can't give results over the phone so I'd call the GP.

Depends on how quickly the imaging department gets through the piles of reports to be sent. In south east kent anywhere between 10 days to 3 weeks.

(Can't for the life of me remember how long mothers day was ago but sure its reaching this limit if not gone beyond it?)

If GP referred her, get the secretary there to ring and chase it. If it was a hospital consultant there's a really good chance its sitting on their desk under a pile of similar waiting to reach the top. Hospital doctors are notorious for holding on to the results til the next appointment, even if its months away.

The GP should be able to get hold of it anyway, but they may not be able to do much with the info except refer her on.

I have rung. No results yet.

Nothing in the post.

I am going to ring on Thursday if nothing comes by then.

I think you should. From experience at work, if you ring them every day to the point of annoyance they might just push for the imaging dept to pull their finger out.

TheOriginalFAB · 19/04/2011 15:16

I might ring now, thank you.

MRI fine but I have been offered to have her follow-up appointment brought forward as she is still having problems.

TheOriginalFAB · 19/04/2011 19:17
