Nitty Questions

My DD has had her first outbreak of nits and have a couple of questions. I've just used nitty gritty comb and conditioner and I seem to have removed all the eggs. When should I use the comb again?

Also, I've just found a louse on my DD favourite teddy bear (yuk) how do I make sure all her bedding and toys are nit free without boiling them and then ruining her favourite teddies? Is there anything I need to add to the wash? Also, how to you clean your hair brushes? Again do I need to put anything special on them to kill the nits?

Thank you [goes off to have a good scratch]!

I'd recomb in a day or two , to catch any which have hatched since last combing and before they can lay more. Lice don't survive long off the human head so I'd just spray with diluted teatree oil, likewise wash brushes etc.

You need to comb every other day for two weeks, to be sure you've got all the unhatched eggs

Apparently they can't live off the head, so brushes, bedding, soft toys etc don't need treating, but I'd give them a wash, just to stop me itching Smile
