a small plastic/glass pebble about a centermetre in diameter. Its totally smooth so appears to have gone down smoothly. From what I have read we should just wait a few days for it to reappear from the other end.
Does anyone have any experience of kids swallowing foriegn objects and have any advice for me?
Thanks

Hold your nerve, and wait for it to emerge.

If it had gone down the wrong way, you'd have had pretty much immediate symptoms. Something that small and smooth should go through without difficulty.

DD2 was found playing with my button box and the next day I realised she'd eaten some when 2 came through in her nappy. She was about 12 months at the time and the buttons were about 1.5cm diameter. She was fine, they passed through with no discomfort.

How old is your DC?

Thanks meditrina. It was a "magic wishing" pebble from "Fairy Trina" not sure why dd felt the need to eat it but she is now upset and wants it back asap! I am more than a little bit cross and worried at the same time.

As is it smooth, smallish and non toxic, just wait. You will see it again in the next few daysGrin Usually within 3-4 days.

If it hasn't turned up after a week or she gets stomach pain then speak to a doctor but vast majority of items like this will pass through no problems.

Thats good news niggle wiggle (not that your dd ate the buttons but that they came out so easily!) as dd is 4 so quite a bit bigger. Thanks beginning to feel a bit calmer now.

I washed them and put them back in the box, so no harm done Wink. I'm sure she'll be fine.
