my 7mth old has had bad nappies for 2 wks now, up to 6/7 a day and 2-4 during night. (and yes has caused bad nappy rash with bleeding sores). Two teeth came through week before it started so not sure if they are cause.
Now has slight cough and runny nose (mainly clear mucus but sometimes green).
As she is fine in self, not lethargic (sometimes bit whingy) and not off food im not really sure whether to be worried or not?
Anyone had a similar experience? if so how long did it go on for?

My DD had this a few weeks ago, it lasted a week and a a half, she had the most horrendous nappy rash and the nappies were awful, i was changing her up to 15 times a day! After a week and a trip to an unhelpful doctor when she started having blood in her nappies along with watery poo i took her to A+E, they diagnosed her with gastroenteritis and candidis (sp) in her nappy area. The cream worked really quickly and DD is now fine.

I would take your DD to the doctor to get some cream for her bum, my DDs was so so sore. If she has the same as my DD it should clear up soon. Horrid isn't it? DD wasn't off her food either, just awful nappies all day long!

Thank you. I am waiting on results from stool sample so we'll see what that shows.

My DS had this when he was about 10 months old and it lasted or about 8 weeks! I had to take him to A&E when we were away from home - I was given canisten powder. Did nothing. He had a stool sample - nothing was found. I was really worried but it did eventually go away. I gave him probiotic powders in his milk (you can buy them in Boots now), bought a travel cot and left him bare bum in there with a bed pad to catch the diarrhoea. His bum and scrotum was red raw and bleeding. In the end I bought spray on stuff for bedsores from the chemist and put that on - it created a watertight barrier to allow his skin to heal. Nothing the Gp gave me worked and he was screaming in pain. Was horrible - do hope your wee one is better soon.

Dd all back to normal now. Stool sample revealed nothing so doc suggested to drop milk feeds for 48 hours and reintroduce diluted milk gradually. Worked a treat! Now however probs with teething!!! It never ends!!!!
