constant cold - when, if ever, to bother the GP?

dd2 is nearly 6mo, and seems to have had a cold pretty much since xmas, although it has been worse in the last month. each morning she wakes up snotty and sneezing. she coughs a lot, and rattles a little bit sometimes. i am not sure whether the rattling is from snot/catarrh in her head, or stuff on her chest, but probably the former. no temperature, ever.

she gets pretty grumpy when the cough is bad, and I'm slightly concerned about the fact that she's always just a little bit under the weather. DD1 gets coughs and colds from preschool, but although frequent these seem to be brief and finite. I also wonder if perhaps dd2 has an allergy of some sort? anyway, is it worth troubling the GP over this sort of thing?
