Which is LEAST disgusting - Ovex or Pripsen?

Having actually found (and picked off - blee) a threadworm from dd a few minutes ago, we obviously need to treat all of us asap.

I still have very, very vivid memories of being given Pripsen as a child and I still retch remembering the vile taste.

Is Ovex any better? Would the dcs munch a tablet without too much fuss or is the liquid better?

Any experiences welcome!

I don't know about Ovex - but I can still taste the Pripsen I was forced to take as a child. Beyond vile. Don't think anything could be worse, tbh. I would go the tablet route if poss.

Olihan · 13/04/2011 23:18

Exactly! I can too .

The tablets are supposed to be 'pleasantly orange flavoured' Hmm.

Can't decide if one 5ml spoonful of liquid will be easier to force down them coax them to take than chomping through a tablet.

Aaaargh. I am not looking forward to tomorrow.

Making 3 dcs take vile disgusting medication and washing all the towels and bedding and hoovering a dusting that is apparently necessary to eradicate the little fuckers blighters so we don;t have to go through this again.

Fun, fun, fun.

Pripsen, I had forgotten how vile that stuff was. Raspberry flavour milkshake my arse. I still can't stand the smell of raspberries to this day.
DD had some ovex tablets when she was about 4, they were fine and she is a big food/taste refuser.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/04/2011 17:52

ovex tablets are just chalky, ours have never had a problem taking them

EustaciaVye · 14/04/2011 18:12

ovex tablets for adults
ovex medicine for kids.

fluffyanimal · 14/04/2011 18:13

The benefit of Ovex is you only need 1 dose, with Pripsen you have to repeat some time later (can't remember how long).

BertieBotts · 14/04/2011 18:21

We always had ovex. They taste fine. In fact they taste like the orange flavour sticks you get with those sherbet dip things.

Olihan · 14/04/2011 18:27

Thank you, went with the Ovex and they disappeared with minimal fuss!

Just hope the little buggers disappear as easily.

Off to change all the bedding now.....
