my DD is 3 weeks old and has nasal congestion for about 5 days now, we're doing all we can, saline spray, aspirator, propping up and steam, but there is no improvement and she is having a very hard time sleeping and feeding, yesterday she was awake most of the day and night and had loads of little feeds and today I can't wake her up long enough to get a good feed in. It is also taking ages to feed her cause she keeps gagging and a good bit of her feeds comes back up so I try and wind her as often as I can, but she still can bring it back up, it's hard to see her so uncomfortable!

How long can this type of congestion last and when should we consider bringing her to the doctor?

I had this exact same thing with my ds and the snuffles lasted a good 4 months I'm afraid. As long as they are feeding and gaining weight then the docs are not interested, I'm afraid. Listening to them is horrendous though, I held ds up to the phone when he was 10 days and sobbed to the out of hours service. So upsetting to see them struggle.

Think you are doing most of whats advised and I agree, provided she is having plently of wet nappies and gaining weight the docs are not interested. You could try investing in an humidifier - thats all I can think of now.
