Wondering whether to take DS to doctors tomorrow. He's 2.5 and after weeing every now and then this week he's got upset about having pants on and says 'my willy' I thought he was just fussing but he's cone back from nursery with a white smudge on the inside of his pants. On reflection he's also started having accidents during his lunch nap which he has never done.

I know you're not doctors but any thoughts based on experience pls? Would normally go on side of caution but it's last day in work before I re- interview for my own job under redundancy process so want to make sure I'm not over fussing before I take annual leave. Thanks in advance

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Boys rarely get UTI's. Could he have worms? These leave a mark inside underpants, will also make his bum itch.

Probably worth taking him, even if all you do is get a UTI ruled out. If you could get him to produce a urine sample before you go that would probably help the GP.

I think I'll take him. Haven't got anything for him to do a sample in unfortunately. Would much prefer to get him to do one at home rather than get 2 yr old to pee in a pot at a doctors!! He's just started learning to pee standing up.

Will check his bottom too just in case in the morning. He dud faff about it being wiped extra a few times yesterday.

Thanks

Clean jam jar would be fine for a sample.I hope he's ok.

Check his bum during the night, this is when they come out. (bleugh)

Thanks for all your help. DH took him to doctor so I could show my face at work. Doctor thought he was fine but took sample for testing. I don't know whether he asked about worms so will check tonight. How very glamorous it all is!!
