DS's red eyes

DS who is 15 has really red eyes.
He has been to the doctor a couple of times and has tried several sorts of drops but nothing seems to be working today. It is really bothering him because of the comments he gets at school. Although they look dreadful he says they don't really hurt. He gets hayfever too but says that he doesn't think that's what it is...I'm not so sure.
Are there drops or other treatments that anyone would recommend?

If you haven't already, get him an eye test (NHS) and ask the optician to look specifically at the redness.

Opticians have the equipment that GPs don 't so can diagnose better. If possible take a list of the various drops the GP has tried.
