3 year old with sore neck

My daughter was thrown off a hammock this afternoon and we ended up taking her to the hospital. The doctor checked her over and said she should be ok but to keep an eye on her and to give Calpol. But she is complaining of a very sore neck and Calpol just isn't doing the job. It almost sounds like whiplash... Is there anything else I can do? Have to say I feel so useless because I can't help her to stop hurting. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ice should help with the pain. As would alternating hot and cold compresses. Keep a close watch for any other signs of whiplash, eg pins and needles in arms, pain in the back of the head, and take her back to the doctor if it doesn't improve.

I would call the hospital back tbh. She may need to be seen again. Is she reacting to you normally? Not been sick, not unusually tired?
What did she land on? Did you see her fall?

Back to hospital/doctors.

After a while consider a session with a cranial oestopath to check her over.

She fell onto concrete. The doctor did check her over thoroughly. She's reaching out normally. Not been sick. Has been very tired but the hospital said it's the shock and that it's ok for her to sleep lots. I'll keep an eye on her and, if it doesn't improve, I'll call the doctor. She didn't bang her head so, one thing less to worry about not that it's making me feel any better. She's still so pale this morning and feels pretty hot.

If she has sore neck and a fever I would be straight back to the doctor excluding meningitis. I know she had a fall but a fall does not make kids hot.

Taking her to the doctor soon and we'll see what they say

Have been to the doctors and he says she's moving normally and will be sore for a few days. Sounds to him a bit like whiplash. She doesn't have a fever. One big weight off my mind.

She feels hot but does she has a temperature? If so, please have her seen by a doctor ASAP.

No she doesn't have a temperature and we've been to the doctor. He seems to think she'll be ok although sore.
