My 2 year old ds was playing on a trampoline yesterday with his ds and 2 cousins when he fell, on the trampoline not off it, He screamed so I picked him up and comforted him but when I put him down he couldn't walk and fell over crying so we took him to a&e, they felt all his joints and stuff and said there didn't seem much wrong as he wasn't distressed, she then wanted to see him walk which again he couldn't and sat on the floor crying, so they dosed him up and wanted to see him walk again in an hour. After the hour we stood him on the floor and he wouldn't walk but was v.tired as it was 11pm and he stamped his feet in temper and screamed, doctor said thats fine its a soft tissue injury and keep him dosed up. I've kept him dosed up but he still won't bear any weight on it and just sits down on the floor after trying to stand. Now do I go back to a&e and insist an xray or wait it out or hope it improves?? The doctor did say that he should weight bear especially after painkillers but hes not. I dont want to take him to a&e and sit for hours to be told the same thing?

That's awful can't believe they didn't xray him, I would ring up and say still in pain and can't walk they might just send you straight to xray.

I had to go back with my son last year, I rang to say I was bringing him back and we didn't have to sit and wait with the masses the second time, although they did miss the fracture on the xray the first time so probably worried I'd kick up s fuss! Hope your little one gets sorted soon, just thought the out of hours might be able to order an xray too.

We took him to the out of hours gp she had a good feel of it and said that he's not feeling no pain when she touches his ankle and leg so thinks it's more of a strain. He's still not walking on it at all but she said he should start walking again in a few days. Thank you for asking.
