DS1 (age 12) is starting to develop a fine crop of acne on his nose.

I have told him it is partly because he eats too many sweets (!).

Question is, do I buy Clearasil? Does it even still exist? What have others tried that has worked.

Onset of puberty cannot be far behind.

DD tried clearasil and hated it - said it stinged and it make her skin horribly dry and flaky, tried few other similar things from the chemist much the same tbh, found lush teen skin range very good, no harsh chemicals and helped with outbreaks, she had a lot of bumps under the skin on her forehead which never seemed to erupt iykwim, bought her (can't remember the name of it now), but it was a black face scrub - contained charcoal which really helped.

My DD's skin cleared up a lot using freederm spot cream and making sure she washed her face daily with simple facial wash. We tried clearasil and neutrogena etc which have salicylic acid as the active ingredient, but freederm which has Nicotamide worked better
