6 yr old referred for bloood tests

am in turmoil, took ds to gp thinking he had tonsilitis, he has swollen glands in neck throat stomach and groin, gp wouldn't be lead on anything now have aqll sorts plaing through my head......................... have to get tests done tomorrow then back at the gp next friday, any bugs or infections that could cause this doing the rounds??

His immune system is fighting something. That's what the swollen glands indicate. That they are all swollen suggests his body is working rather hard at fighting something. They need to find out what it is.

I know what it is that's going through your mind but please, please, please try not to panic.

Sounds possibly glandular fever. They blood test for that one. Not nice. I had it at uni.

I had glandular fever at college. The glands in my stomach and groin hurt so much. Had a very sore throat too.
