Cough in baby

My 11 mo DD has a horrid cough, has had for about a fortnight. It's ok ish during the day but horrid for her at night. It wakes her up, and often this makes her cry, which just makes her cough more etc etc. She's coughing so much she brings up feeds etc.

I've just given her some Calpol and am lying listening o her on the monitor. Whenever she seems close to settling, she starts coughing again. I'm sure her throat is really sore.

Just wondered if anybody had any ideas to relieve her? I'm thinking it's not worth bothering the GP as I can't think what they could prescribe?

you can start with a wet towel on the radiator (if it's turned on), open the window a bit and raise the head of the bed. steaming her before going to bed may help also. plenty clear fluids.

i think if it's not clearing up though it is best to get it checked by a gp
