not diarrhoea but poo/stools soft (and explosive a bit - sorry folks!!!) and been like this for a week...nothing new in diet at all...and bum pretty red and sre now..poor thing!

not sure whether to take to docs as seems fine in himself...could a simple virus/bug cause this? for A WEEK?? anybody have a similar experience which then resolved by itself?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sounds like it may have been a bug & you can then get a temporary lactose intolerance following the bug, which would give you explosive stools. If it's making him that sore I'd pop him along to your GP & they could also prescribe something for his sore bottom (or you could try bepanthen/cavilon as they are good barrier creams that prevent further irritation while the skin underneath heals over). Hope that helps.
