Painful erections

My 4 yo. has always had some kind of problem with erections. He has always tried to 'put them down' claiming they were tickling him and he did not like it. I thought it was weird, reassure him about the fact that this meant his penis was working well, bla, bla..

For the last week he wakes up in the night in pain. He complains about it several times a day. His foreskin does not retract at all and I think it may be phimosis, although I thought there was still time...

I was referred yesterday by GP to a pediatric urologist, but I do not know how long it will take. It is heartbreaking to see him trying to stop the erection and crying in pain. Anybody has had this before?

(Urine sample also taken since he tries to urinate frequently when it hurts him, but no sign of infection)

My son felt like this too around age 3-4 - hated the erections , wanted to put them down etc he also thought it meant he needed to wee and cried a few times about it.

Luckily for us the problem went no further and a few years on he never mentions it.

I do hope you get some help quickly, it must be very upsetting. Good luck and hoping this bump's your post and someone with more knowledge replies

Thank you very much haggis. It is reassuring to know this has happened to others.
