Is this chicken pox? Help!

Not sure if my baby has chicken pox - he's only 7 months, so quite young to be getting it I know.

It's going round in our area, a few of his little friends have it, a few red spots appeared on Sunday, since then a few more have appeared but they are just very little spots, certainly nothing like I've seen on other children. He's probably got about 10 spots now, all on his tummy, chest and sides.

He's fine in himself though, so normally wouldn't mind, but we're meant to be going to center parcs on Monday! How do I know if he has definitely got it? I don't want to take him if he has got it, but they just dont' seem to be doing the whole blistering/crusting thing, so I'm a bit clueless really.

They start off as as slightly raised spots, then they blister and eventually they crater or crust.

DS has chickenpox at the moment, started on Sunday with 3 little spots, by today he had loads.

You'll be able to tell soon enough - it usually gathers pace by day 3.

Some kids have it very mildly btw, with only a handful of sport ever appearing, although I think this is rarer.

Thanks for replying. I think thats maybe it. I read that babies are born with a bit of their mothers immunity, so maybe thats making it mild? I just hope it hurries up and buggers off!
