Marble sized lump in armpit

Last April my daughter(13) had Scarlet Fever, was treated with antibiotics and seemed to get over it.

2 weeks later she collasped and was diagnosed with Orbital Cellulitus, had 2 lots of IV antibiotics, nasal steroids, eye drops. Whilst in hospital she had a CT scan that showed swelling in her nose. She was operated on and they found her Adinoids(sp)had grown back(had them removed when she was 3)they removed them and cleared all the gunk that was in there and for a month it seemed to help.

When she saw the consultant he put her on Nasonex spray as he thought maybe she had an allergy to something which was why her nose had started running again.

November she took really not well, problems with her breathing, saw OOH GP and was given antibiotics, a week later she was still not well saw a new Gp in the practice and she put her on more antibiotics and took swabs. The following week she was back at the GP and had a chest infection, was given more antibiotics and ventolin inhaler.
Settled down a bit but in January was back again with chest pains and trouble with her breathing, was given more antibiotics and a brown inhaler aswell.

Last month she seemed better, still lacking in energy and a green runny nose but not saying she was sore.
The past few weeks she has been having nose bleeds aswell as the green runny nose, sore heads, not being able to walk to school without having to use her inhaler and generally quite hangy.
Went to GP this morning and she said she has an infection in her sinuses so gave her antibiotics and said to go back if the nose bleeds are still continuing next week.

She came in from school and said she had a lump under her arm, when I looked it is in her armpit and is about the size of a marble, it isnt red or inflamed looking, but is raised, is hard to touch.

Is this normal?
I'll phone the GP in the morning but I just need my mind put at rest, if thats possible

Sorry it's long

Thanks

I would guess it's a swollen lymph node; they can become inflamed as part of the immune system's response to an infection.

Obviously contact your doc, because I'm certainly not one, but it's probably not a problem in itself.

She's been through the mill a bit, hasn't she?

Thanks, I stupidly googled it and gave myself a fright.

She certainly has been through the mill, I feel so sorry for her, she only started High school last August and seems to be off more than shes in.
She just seems to be picking up one infection after another.

Oh no, never google lymph nodes! Have been there - DD2 has had a couple of impressively swollen ones in her neck, but they turned out to be nothing serious.

Thats good, hopefully the Gp will say the same.
