Vomiting bug - again??

My 15 month old had a very nasty bout of D&V bug a few weeks ago and last night was sick again and has just vomited up his milk feed (he has not really eaten today). He had a few (3?) poos yesterday, bit runny, as well.

Is it possible to get a repeat of the D&V bug or would this be something different do you think?

He starts with a coughing fit and is then sick. I wondered whether it is phlegm on his tummy rather than a bug, but with the possible diarrhea as well thought a bug more likely.

I chucked out a bucket we had used last time for catching sick, could that have harboured germs and passed it back to him?

I am no expert but I assume it will be a slightly different bug.

No idea about the bucket.

I just hope he is better soon and you all get some sleep!

there are billions of these sickness bugs around and some of them we don't build up immunity to. Sorry...

Sounds like it's more to do with the coughing to me than a D&V bug.

Mine do quite often have D&V symptoms with a cough due to the phlegm but it's not actually a proper D&V bug.

As for the bucket, no I don't think that would have passed it back to him this long afterwards, I'm sure the bugs can't live that long on hard surfaces.

Mind you it dosen't really matter what bug it is, I just tend to treat the symptoms as they appear.

Thanks all, I am thinking this one may be more coughing and phlegm related as it's worse at night and he is only sick when he coughs. I am on tenterhooks every time he clears his throat, and ready with the towels!

He otherwise is quite perky, lots better in himself than when he had the d&v bug for certain previously, when he was very poorly.
