my 8 week old has diarrhea

My 8 week old baby has had diarrhea for 5 days now.my question is how long can a baby have diarrhea and how long until I need to worry? She is feeding fine and she hasn't temperature at the moment also she don'( exceed three poos a day

What is her poo like?

All babies do liquidy poos at that age, some are a little more pasty than others but it's unusual to have true diarrhoea at that age without being poorly.

If she's only pooing 3 times a day I wouldn't be overly worried, especially if she's feeding well, not vomiting and not unwell.

formula fed and it really runny and dark yellow

just been doctors he said to give my baby extra water in her feed so she has 5oz to double the amount of water to every feed for two days. Does this sound ok to you?

that sounds a bit odd for such a young baby. could maybe understand it if she had a very upset tummy.

but tbh the poo sounds like normal baby poo, although I realise that it's not normal for her otherwise you wouldn't have noticed it iyswim?

not sure what else to suggest though tbh. I think if it was me i would carry on as you are and just see if it changes of its own accord... but maybe others will have diff ideas??
