Vomitting up phlegm

My 5 year old has had a really bad cough and cold this week. Today she has come home from school early because she was complaining of tummy ache. She is quite hot and her eyes and nose are streaming. She has brought up quite a lot of phlegm (and her drink) when coughing. Could it be the phlegm which is causing the tummy ache? She says it has eased a bit since she threw up the phlegm.

Is there anything I can give her to get rid of some of the phlegm? I wish she would blow her nose properly!!

Thanks

Um the phlegm coming up will probably make her feel better; but it seems unlikely that it would give her tummy ache

Avoid milky stuff as that could make her phlegm thicker and more difficult to move & silly as it sounds keep her as active as possible as children often find it difficult to move phlegm & the more she just moves around the more chance she has of getting rid of it
