Preventer inhaler for 3 year old

My daughter has a reliever inhaler for viral induced wheezing, but at the moment I am listening to her coughing and coughing in bed. Last time we saw the doctor she said that we could try using a steroid preventer inhaler. We were a bit reluctant because the doctor mentioned side effects, but her episodes of coughing and wheezing seem to be increasing in frequency and severity. Does anyone have a child of a similar age using a preventer inhaler?

Ds started on a preventor inhaler at 12 months and it has made a massive difference to him.

It is much better to use the daily preventor than to have to use the ventolin and other much stronger drugs regulary in my opinion.

DD is 22 months and has had a preventer inhaler since the start of the year. It seems to be helping a lot and she has had a cold without needing a huge amount of ventolin since being on it.

It's fab!
