Tummy pain - sorry bit long

DD was diagnosed with a urine infection last month and had a course of antibiotics. Her symptoms were sharp abdominal pains which initially made her double over. she was off colour, lacking energy and loss of appetite.
The antibiotics made no difference and now having been to drs 5 times they are saying she has a virus and they don't think she ever had a urine infection.
She still has tummy pains but these have lessened and now seem to be morning and evening mostly and Dr says her glands are swollen and throat red. He said that we have glands in our stomachs which is what is causing her pain. this often gets confused with appendicitis apparently.
Dr says to just give calpol and to go back if she gets worse. dd is going to school but now has a stinking cold as well and is definitely not her usual perky self. I have kept her teacher informed.
I feel i should be doing more.
Any words of advice welcome.

It sounds like you're doing everything you can although it must be frustrating. I just thought I'd pop on and say that one of my sisters and also my DS get stomach pains when they have a cold. My mum says it was always my sister's first symptom and I now check my son's throat and temperature if he says he has tummy ache.

I don't understand why they weren't sure about a urine infection though as didn't they test her urine?

thanks happyseven. Yes they did 3 urine tests, the first one had an infection they said. The second they thought had been contaminated as they grew something odd and the third then was clear.
The 3rd Dr we saw said he thought the first one could have been a contaminant and dd had not had a urine infection.
The pains are worse this morning and dd asked if i could take her to the hospital for a blood test, bless her. She is only 7 and for her to say that it must be bad. She wanted to go to school so have taken her but spoken to her teacher again.

Poor girl! I know my son complains alot about his tummy ache and he's not really a complainer so it must really hurt. Does it improve with calpol?

I give her Calpol and she says it doesn't help but i think it eases it a little.

DD still having stomach pain and says it's worse again. She is managing to sleep most of the night and is going to school. On last visit to Gp he said these types of viruses can go on for weeks and our first visit to drs was 1st Feb.
She is also having violent hiccups a couple of times a day. I did tell the dr this.
Should i take her back to the drs again?

What should i do?
